Fees run from January to January, regardless of when an individual joins during the year.
Therefore, if you join as late as March, or even summer, you effectively have “lost” the missing time before your joining month. On renewal, you will still pay the January to January membership/insurance renewal fees.
Rather than penalise individuals, if you join April, you still pay for the full year – it is not a sliding scale payment.
If you fail to renew, or renew late, individuals will not gain, as they will still be paying for the full year.
New BNA Membership for BRITISH NATIONALS, with full insurance cover*
£20 including passbook (a passport size photo must be supplied) per year, Jan to Jan.
BNA RENEWAL Membership (ie. for those already with passbooks and BNA membership)
£15 only, on production of their unique insurance code in their passbook, still Jan to Jan
Discretionary Insurance* for FOREIGN Individuals – NO BNA Membership
Those individuals residing in Britain, who need to remain members of their own country’s association/federation, or who cannot provide “proof” they have world-wide insurance, ie. to practice Naginata in Britain, and thus require insurance with BNA.
£15 only, no passbook (and therefore no passport size photo)
As per the separate London Club page, each Saturday practice at the London club for 2008, is only £4 per individual per session, no concessions. (Unchanged from 2007 !)
Fees will be reviewed in December of the previous year, prior to setting the fees for the new January immediately following. The BNA Executive will recommend Membership fees, and agree with British nationals only of the BNA, democratically, if they believe their membership fee is acceptable and reasonable to achieve the aims and legal minimum requirements of the BNA for the promotion and development of their Naginata both domestically and internationally.
* Summary: The insurance is, student to student, covers all students practicing only within the BNA club/venue environment, that means with Naginata sensei (coach) who has CL, PL and PI liability cover (British or INF approved). BNA will not, and cannot prohibit private practice between student members; however members must understand any such practice will not be covered by the BNA or our insurers if practice without a fully insured NAGINATA Dan grade instructor, takes place. Such practices whilst recognised will and need to happen, becomes a private liability affair/action between that/those individual(s) alone.
